The LASEC Business Connect program is the official supplier procurement program of the Los Angeles Sports & Entertainment Commission. The program aims to align the capabilities of local business owners with the opportunities provided by premier sports and entertainment events in Los Angeles. It identifies skilled and experienced entrepreneurs who can supply goods and services for major events and offers them professional development, mentorship, and resources to help grow their businesses and compete effectively for contracting opportunities.

Minority, women, persons with disabilities, LGBTQ+, and veteran-owned businesses that meet the stated criteria of the Business Connect program are invited to apply to provide the products, goods, and services requested by premier sports and entertainment event producers working in LA. Becoming a member of the Business Connect program is a competitive process. We will work to source certified local diverse businesses for inclusion in the Business Connect Directory. The Business Connect Directory will be shared with vendors and event producers for their use during the procurement and event activation process.

LASEC Business Connect Participation Waiver for Events

Please read the following waiver carefully before signing at the bottom:

In consideration for permission to voluntarily participate in activities related to the Los Angeles Sports & Entertainment Commission’s Business Connect program and to compete for contracts for special event or events (the “Events”) (which the participant acknowledges will provide the participant with access to the Event(s) and an experience at the Event(s) not generally available to the general public), the participant indicates agreement by signing below for himself/herself, and for his/her respective heirs, employees, invitees, personal representatives, and assigns (collectively, the “Participant”), and agrees as follows:

Release and Waiver

The Participant hereby releases, waives, discharges, and covenants not to sue the Los Angeles Sports & Entertainment Commission, Business Connect, City of Los Angeles, City of Inglewood, Los Angeles County, or any subdivision thereof, and each of the aforementioned entities’ respective owners, shareholders, members, managers, presenters, sponsors, affiliates, associates, officers, directors, ambassadors, employees, representatives, agents, designees and/or successors and assigns (collectively, the “Releasees”), from and for any liability resulting from any personal injury, accident or illness (including death), and/or property loss (including attorney’s fees and costs), however caused, arising from, or in any way related to, Participant’s participation in the Event(s), except to the extent caused by the willful misconduct, gross negligence or intentional torts of the Releases.

Participant agrees not to sue or proceed in any manner, in agency or other proceedings, whether at law, in equity, by way of administrative hearing, or otherwise, to solicit others to institute any such actions or proceeding, or consent to be a complainant in any action or proceeding, against any Releasees arising out of Participant's participation in the Events(s). Participant agrees that he/she will not be a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, representative, multiple plaintiffs, or similar proceeding arising out of Participant's participation in the Event(s).

Permission to Use Likeness and Name

The Participant hereby grants the Releasees an irrevocable, perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide license to use Participant’s picture, voice, likeness and/or name, each as may be captured in connection with the Event(s), in any manner or media, with or without modification, for any lawful purpose whatsoever (including but not limited to promoting events, and activities, including those of its representatives and licensees), without compensation or any right of approval.

Confidentiality

The Participant acknowledges that the Participant is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any proprietary or privileged information to which the Participant is exposed while participating in the Event(s).

At-Will Participation

The Participant acknowledges that the Participant is not an employee of the Releasees and is participating without being under any contract for hire, express or implied, and without receiving any remuneration for such services unless provided for in a separate written agreement. The Participant acknowledges further that nothing in this waiver/release shall obligate the Releasees to continue to retain the Participant as a participant, and that LASEC has and will continue to have the absolute and unconditional right to terminate the Participant’s participation for any reason or no reason, with or without cause or prior notice.

Conduct and Non-Disparagement

The Participant shall always during his/her participation in the Event(s) conduct himself/herself in a professional and courteous manner to appropriately reflect the values and integrity of the Releasees. The Participant hereby agrees that, during the term of his/her voluntary participation in the Event(s), he/she shall take no action that is intended, or would reasonably be expected, to harm the Releasees or their reputation, or that would reasonably be expected to lead to unwanted or unfavorable publicity to the Releasees.

Medical Treatment

The Participant does hereby and forever release and hold harmless the Releasees from any and all claims which arise or may hereafter arise as result of any first aid or medical treatment rendered in connection with the Participant’s activities with Releasees. In case of serious injury, the Participant gives his/her permission for Releasees personnel to seek medical treatment for Participant should it become necessary.

Indemnification and Hold Harmless

The Participant hereby agrees to indemnify, defend and hold the Releasees harmless from any and all claims, demands, actions, suits, procedures, costs, expenses, damages and liabilities including, but not limited to, attorney’s fees, arising from or in any way related to Participant’s participation in the Event(s), except to the extent arising out of the willful misconduct, gross negligence, or intentional torts of the Releasees.

Business Connect Directory

The Participant agrees to not share the LASEC Business Connect Directory with outside companies for the purpose of solicitation and marketing and the Participant understands that the Directory or any LASEC Business Connect Supplier list is the property of the LASEC Business Connect Program.

Acknowledgment of Understanding

The Participant has read this waiver, and the terms set forth herein regarding Participant’s assumption of risk, release of the Releasees, waiver of liability and agreement to indemnify the Releases, and has had the opportunity to ask questions about the same. The Participant fully understands that by executing this waiver the Participant is, in exchange for access to the Event(s) and an experience at the Event(s) not generally available to the general public, giving up substantial rights in connection therewith as outlined in this waiver, and that the terms of this waiver are contractual, and not a mere recital.

The Participant acknowledges that he/she agrees to abide by the terms of this waiver freely and voluntarily.
